For all of our destination shoppers, I wanted to share a few of our secrets.

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Although making a trip to Columbus just to visit The Beadcage is usually more than enough, some of our shoppers want more.

So, I have come up with some great ideas to make your trip to The Beadcage as fulfilling as possible. The first idea is to contact us for information on any hotel specials we have for our customers. We have special arrangements with nearby hotels that may be available for you during your visit with us. Yes, many people do travel to The Beadcage from all over the United States. Many of our visitors are on their way somewhere and will stop by, but some are coming just for the beads. So we try to be as helpful as possible.

Plan your trip during one of our events or classes and bring some friends. Our classes are a great treat as we often bring in renowned artists and teachers. This way you can make the most of your time by staying and taking a class and shopping at the same time. Having your friends with you will make the time even more enjoyable. We are often having great events including Trunk Shows and specials. Make sure to sign up for our news letter to find out all the specifics, look at our web sites or just call us ahead of time. Saving money on beads and then getting a great deal at one of our events would make the perfect weekend trip.

When you come, please know that we are in the upscale shopping area in Columbus. There is a great Hair Stylist and also spas, right next door. Three doors down is Panera Bread and right next to us is Chico’s and Talbot’s. Trendier stores are across the street. We have car dealerships, bowling, Hollywood Connection, ice cream parlors and the famous Chef Lee’s in walking distance.

A great weekend could also include a trip to Calloway Gardens. From there you are only a short distance to The Beadcage for a shopping excursion. You could make it a weekend to include an upscale downtown hotel and a night at the Springer Opera House. You could even include some time at the Fort Benning National Infantry Museum where you could also take in a show at the IMAX theater.

No matter what your interests or who you will be traveling with, you will be treated to a great day of comfortable shopping at The Beadcage. Be aware that this will not be a quick in and out shop. It will take you hours to go through most of what we have. Most people find that a day is really not enough time. Be aware that our efficient design and displays can be deceiving and there is really more things than you will be able to take in in one day.

The flowers are blooming, the weather is warm, and it is so beautiful this time of year where we live. For some reason, during this time of year, I can get out of bed easier. Actually, it’s a proven fact that less people feel depressed when it’s nice weather outside.

At The Beadcage, we had the best May ever! We were much busier than we ever anticipated. I would like to thank all of you for coming in and being patient, especially this month. All the support from the community, as well as out of towners, was just overwhelming.

We are on Facebook and would love for you to become our friend. Beginning June 1, 2010, we will be giving Beadcage Birthday Bucks to our Facebook friends! On your birthday, we will send you (through Facebook) a voucher to spend in our store. Also, don’t forget to introduce us to your friends so they can take part in receiving Beadcage Birthday Bucks as a Facebook friend as well.

Lindsay Phillips

Lindsay Philips brand shoes are leading the way with a spectacular line of comfortable and stylish shoes. The word must be getting out as we are seeing more customers as fist time buyers in our store looking for these shoes.

Everyone must know the story by now of the teenager who Velcroed different tops to her flip-flops. When her dad noticed they patented the design and went into production. Now she has a multi million dollar business that keeps on growing.

When she first came out with her flip-flops with changeable tops, it was an instant success. Now with her new snap tops and additional lines of shoes, she is not just a flip-flops seller. She is a true fashion designer with her own lines of shoes and purses and accessories. This brand is one of the hottest in the market.

Here in the flip-flop belt, in the Southern United States, this shoe was an instant hit. The original felt similar to a flip-flop, but it was constructed so much better. Woman had the comfortable feel of the flip-flop with a durable construction, ergonomic design, and great style. These shoes could go instantly from the pool to the nice restaurant with a small change of top.

Paula Rosenberg the owner and CEO of The Beadcage, Inc. has been wearing this shoe since it came out. When she travels, she just takes two bottoms and a small bag of interchangeable tops with her. It saves so much room in the suit cases and with the airline charges for bags, this is a real savings. She ends up with a different shoe for each outfit during the vacation. Now with the new designs, she has so many more choices. She loves the comfort and design of these shoes. Whether it is hanging out at the pool, miles of shopping, or a fancy night on the town, the Lindsay Phillips designs walks her effortlessly through them all.

As a dedicated Lindsay Phillips destination store, The Beadcage offers you the best in Lindsay Phillips shopping. We strive to have the style you want and the size you need. We offer the best possible customer service. We know these shoes because we wear them. When you are looking for a great shoe or specifically the Lindsay Phillips brand, look no further than The Beadcage. Call, order online or just come in to try these on.

Whats a “Trunk Show”?

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

For us, it is basically a fancy name for a special event. I believe it has its roots coming from the days when salesmen drove from store to store with his goods in his trunk.

It is a bit different than a sale but along the same lines. It is a way for a retailer to feature a product and have some specials associated with it without using the term putting the product on sale. There may be some give aways during the event. The product representatives may be there to offer specials advice or free things. You may find that the retailer has planned drawings or provided food or other goodies to enjoy.

At The Beadcage, our Trunk Shows usually feature one of our luxury products; products that are usually not put on sale. The manufactures limit the amount of Trunk Shows we have for their product and closely regulate the specials we are allowed to offer.

Chamilia Jewelry

Trunk shows we usually have feature Trollbeads, Chamilia, Kameleon, and Lampe Berger. Typically we will announce these Shows in our monthly newsletter, by email, or by post card. Sometimes we may advertise in the media. We usually hang a large banner across the side of our store that says, “Trunk Show”. If the banner is hung early it will have a smaller sign saying “coming soon”. We take the “coming soon” banner down the days of the “Trunk Show”.

Everyone is invited to buy product at the Trunk Show. Most are well attended and are a great social event. Besides being fun, they usually offer some great deals. There may be buy some get some free or money off offers or even more creative offers. These events happen rarely so they should not be missed. If you are going to be out of town during the event, contact us for information regarding calling in or emailing to get the special offers.

The special deals while permitted by the manufacturers are actually being given as a gift directly from The Beadcage. When we give away a product, almost all times, we have paid for this product and the gift is from us, not from the manufacturer. So when you receive a free bracelet or bead or fragrance, it is a personal gift purchased from the manufacturer and being given as a gift from the store to you. It usually is the only time we can do something extra nice for our customers. Discounting at any other time of the year, no matter how much we would like to do it, is strictly prohibited by the manufacturers and may result in the loss of our distributorship for the product.
